With the weather in the UK finally starting to pick up again I was reminded of last summer, memories of sun-filled days on tour with the NIMH team started coming to mind. In response to this, over the next 4 weeks I will post a new unpublished picture from my travels with the NIMH team last year and a bit of back story to how the photo came about. To kick things off I thought i’d start close to home with a picture of Oli Short in Brighton. It was a Saturday and the sun was blazing so I phoned Oli to check he was down to skate then took the 45 min train ride to Brighton. Myself , Oli, Tuffnell and Joby all piled into the car, after passing the nudist beach we wound up at this spot. Oli did this trick and a negative mistrial stall which was featured in his recent BE-Mag profile. Tuffnell got a couple clips and a pic before a call came that people were chilling with beers and a BBQ on the beach and we should go join them before the sun went down. For all the photo freaks I shot this with a Canon 5D, shutter speed 1/400th @ f8.0. It was lit with 2 canon 540EZ flashes teamed-up both at camera right at full power to stop Oli from becoming silhouetted by the sun which was high in the sky and slightly backlighting Oli. More to follow next week
