Mr Drastick – The Gladiators Anthem
The best UK Hip Hop release I have heard so far in 2008! Beats are on point throughout and the lyrics seriously impress with a variety of conscious issues that you will relate to in some way. ‘She Gotta Find A Love’ is a wicked track about women growing old and switching up from man to man, while forgetting that she is only getting older wasting time to find love. Its nice to hear a new UK release that doesn’t focus on drugs, guns and violence, not to say Drastick doesn’t brush these issues. The album features Yungun, TB, Stylah, Iron Braydz and battle champ Rein. After more then a couple of free download mixtapes, Drastick has built a large fan base online and on the street. ‘They Swear’ was voted 1xtra single of the week while its respective free mix tape ‘The Gladiatorial Passion Vol.1’ being mix tape of the week on 1xtra. This album is definitely going to get heavy rotation and I highly recommend to all the Hip Hop lovers out there rolling!
